November 29 Luncheon
November 29, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
$30.00Our Annual Holiday Happening, 1 week early due to space constraints
Speaker: Pamela Lawler, Philabundance
Pamela will share her unlikely journey from corporate communicator to social entrepreneur, from very lean startup to scalability and lessons learned along the way. She will discuss risk and managing growth, the importance of branding, and of course, authentic leadership and knowing your purpose.
Although best known as the founder of Philabundance — the leading organization in the region dedicated to eliminating hunger and improving food access for families — Pam Lawler has had a diverse career in the corporate, non-profit, and education sectors as well as being a small business owner and political candidate.
Prior to starting in 1984 one of the nation’s first perishable foods transportation systems — which served as a model for other cities to access a previously untapped source of emergency food — she worked for corporations and consulting firms as a writer, editor, and manager specializing in corporate communications, community relations, civic engagement, and corporate social responsibility. In 1991, as the Consumer Party candidate in the general election, she had the distinction of being the first woman to run for mayor of Philadelphia.
